Comments on: Sacred 2 on Windows 7

Hello, I am new to this forum, I had SC2 for a while, and just purchased a new gaming bundle PC. My Pc stats are as follows:

AMD FX 4100 Quad Core Processor 3.60Ghz
4Gb Memory
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit

And had this game on my other computer which was Vista, now I have done a bit of research as to why i could not play SC2. I had typed in that formula -skipopenal -nocpubinding in the farget field and is now working wonders BUT… my wireless keyboard and mouse don't respond to the game right even though It plays my other games, I just can't move the cursor, is anyone else having this problem?

My keyboard and mouse are Microsoft Wireless Keyboard and Mouse.

i have installed the game but everytime my character reaches lvl 10 the screen blacks out and returns to the main menu pls help me guys im using a laptop core i5 4 gig memory and nvidia geforce gt540m

STEP 13 made my game works like a charm with multi tasking,elite graphics, physx actived WITH NO CRASH AT ALL

For those recommending NOT to install 2.43… That is not easy to avoid when playing through Steam (unless you know how to stop games from autoupdating)…

BASARAisAwesome: You have to make sure that the text already there is enclosed in " signs and that you have a space as the first character BEFORE adding '-skipopenal -nocpubinding'.

As for myself… I installed and fully updated Sacred 2 to v2.43, and ofcourse I ran into the same issues as everybody else.

My rig is:
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T
2x ATI HD5850 set up in Crossfire
8GB DDR3
Windows 7 Ultimate x64

What SEEMS to have fixed it (tested for about 30 minutes so far):
Added the ' -skipopenal -nocpubinding' part to the end of the target field.
Set compability mode to Windows XP SP3 FOR ALL USERS (just in case).
Set to run as administrator FOR ALL USERS (just in case).

I added in the -skipopenal -nocpubinding on the Target field and it says that it is invalid on my shortcut please give me another option to fix this game on Windows 7.

Sacred 2 wasn't even Windows XP compatible, the reason being is it wasn't even finished when published; it was released, and to-date, and has been patched over 100 times since release. Some members of the core-development team also mangled up other projects, including Titan Quest under company name Ironlore — great game, poor implementation. I believe Ascaron was the the 3rd company these hay-seeds bankrupted. My suggestion — toss it, consider it a loss.

Hello guys, when I installed the game for the first time, I immediately ran Sacred2 – update, which patched my game to newest version (2.43…). After that, I was unable to successfully run the game. It crashed everytime when executing "Autoexec.txt".
I tried everything – downloaded newest PhysX, graphic card drivers, DirectX, chipset drivers.. nothing helped.. So I completely removed the game, then installed it again, but didnt aplied any patches. So now, I have version 2.40 and the game works just fine, no problems detected yet. So I recommend you to avoid installing 2.43 patch.
My machine:
Intel core i5 – 520M (2,40 GHz)
nVidia GeForce GTS 360M 1 GB
4 GB Ram
Windows 7 Premium 64bit

Got to work this game:
here is how:
WIN 7 64 bits pro + ATI card + NVIDIA Physx driver up to date, + -skipopenal -nocpubinding to launch the exe + admin rights + compatibility XP SP3 + 2.43 patch for Sacred.

The listed fix worked for me the first time. I have been dying to play this game ever since I upgraded to Win7 and Sacred 2 didn't work. I do not have sufficient technical skill to even begin to solve a problem like this. Thanks most kindly for the help, it is much appreciated.

Everything in my game loads except the vendor NPCs like the runetrader, blacksmith, and any other npc that sells things. cant find a fix for this anywhere! The quest npcs are fine i dont know whats wrong please help!

Windows 7 64 bit home prem. clean install from disk.
I7 920
6gig ram
ati HD 4850
install game from discs I purchased pro# cs2110/us2
all drivers updated
physx 9.10
target shows "C:Program Files (x86)Steamsteamappscommonsacred 2systemsacred2.exe" -skipopenal -nocpubinding
set run xp comp srv3
set run as admin
It has never even attemoted to open game. I try to install patch and tell me game not installed, I go to disc and it say play instead of install.

Um.. it is works on only 2.12 I guess

I patched 2.34 and do that ur solutions but
it doesn’t works.

Phew… i have to uninstall the game and reinstall with 2.12 patch
for win 7 ….

some times win 7 is worse then XP =(

after i installed the latest patch (2.65) and the latest phsysX drivers it worked perfect ! (and with the shortcut modified of course)

Well, i’m slowpoke, but i’m hope, that somebody will answer me.
My config is:
Win 7 x64
EVGA 8800 GTS (Drivers and PhysX latest version)
C2Duo E8300
And 6 GB RAM

So, I did all things: created a shortcut and wrote what was need there; ran as Admin and set the compatibility mode to XP SP3.
But it haven’t work (

Hi David,

Try creating a shortcut, and setting the compatibility mode to XP SP3. Also, if you have UAC (User Account Control) enabled, you’ll need to right click the shortcut and select ‘Run as Administrator’. Alternatively, you could disable UAC.

Tried all the things you showed. My game isnt steam app its cfv. Shouldnt make a difference but it just doesnt work
