I have written the following article as a guideline / outline of what your Gateway Device report should contain. Again, these articles are derived from the points under “Introduction” on the Power Point Slides. Be sure to always read the Reading Notes, and go back through the Power Point presentation again at least once. If you have any further questions that require answers, please feel free to ask.
For this report, you will need to FIRST select a Gateway Device
- Identify and Select Installation and Configuration Options
- Identify and explain Installation Options
- What installation options are available for your device?
- What installation options did you select?
- Why did you select these options?
- Identify and explain Configuration Options
- What configuration options are available for your device?
- What configuration options did you select to use?
- How and why are you using these options?
- Install and Configure Gateway Products as Required By Technical Requirements
- Install Your Selected Device
- Detail the installation of your gateway device
- Include enough information for someone else to install the device from default status
- Configure Your Selected Device
- Detail the configuration of your gateway device
- Include enough information for someone else to install the device from default status
- Plan and Execute Tests with Reference to Client Requirements and Network Impact
- Plan Tests in regards to the Client Requirements
- Detail the tests you will perform to check if the client requirements have been met
- Plan Tests in regards to the impact on the network
- Detail the tests you will perform to check the impact of the selected gateway on the network
- Execute Tests in regards to the Client Requirements
- Provide evidence of client requirement testing

- Analyse Error Reports and make Changes as Required
- Analyse the errors and results from your testing
- Remember; not all errors and results have to be “negative”. A “fail” can be a positive outcome if it is required
- Make changes and improvements as required in regards to the errors and results
- Provide evidence of changes you made to your network and / or gateway device to improve any results that needed improving.
