Certificate 1 – Week 6

Actually Posted on 7th April 2008

Hi Everyone. Thank you all for being patient with me, while we have been working our way through this first module. I know that a lot of this is old news to some of you, however it is brand new news to others. I know it would have been handy to have harder tasks to cover in this module (for those of you that are quick off the mark) but it’s the kind of module where I really can’t do that. Suffice to say, our next module will be a lot more flexible in difficulty levels. Thank you also to those of you who have Windows Vista. It’s safe to say that some (but not all) of what we covered over the past seven weeks, will no apply to Vista in the same way.

In this session we covered:

Desktop Customisation

  • Icon Arrangement
  • Icon Naming
  • Themes and Switching Themes
  • Customising the Task Bar
  • Creating Shortcuts
  • Pinning Shortcuts to the Start Menu
  • Searching and Advanced Searching
  • Using Windows Built-In Help and Support

Digital Media – Week 7

Actually Posted on 7th April 2008

Hi Everyone. This week we talked about taking high and low quality photos on our cameras. We also took some time to find these high and low quality photo features on our cameras. I apologise to those of you whom I didn’t get to assist, if you needed it.

It would be a good idea to bring the manual / book that came with your camera to our next lesson. You should also bring any cables and other paraphernalia that came with it, just in case.

I’ve put together a series of links for you all to view below. They are all from the one website this time, so I will provide the main URL, and a list of the links I feel are most related to our session.

Hi Everyone. I have provided a link below as a guide to the installation of Adobe Photoshop CS Tryout Version. Obviously your steps will be a little different, since you do not have the CD as the guide suggests. You will need to locate the Adobe Photoshop CS installation files, and double click the “setup.exe” file. When the setup begins, you can continue with the guide from step 1.
