Digital Media - Week 8

Hi Everyone. Thanks for being patient and printing your student assessment guides. If you missed this class, then you should visit this page, scroll down to:

TAFE IT Foundation / 19040 - Digital Media

and print the four student assessment guides. You should also bring them to our next class.

Speaking of next lesson, we now have two weeks break (TAFE holidays coincide with School holidays). Our next classroom lesson will be on the 30th April.

At the end of the class, we discussed an option for the some learners of the class, to arrive early and go over some of the tasks and exercises we have covered previously together. This was suggested in light of the faster students, feeling “held up” while they had to wait for other students to grasp the concept of the exercise. The new arrangement is as follows:

6:00pm - 6:30pm - Students feeling they need more time to learn will have an extra 30 minutes with me before the actual class will start.

6:30pm - 9:30pm - Regular Class

As you have no doubt noticed, the finishing time of the class is now 9:30pm. This arrangement will continue for the remainder of this semester (until July 2008) only.

On another note, we won’t be covering any more new features of Photoshop. As I have said many times, “I could teach you Photoshop CS forever, and still not cover everything”. The features and tools we have covered up to now, are the features and tools we will use for the rest of the year. We may try the use of another tool or feature along the way, but there will be no further lessons dedicated to the use of tools and features of Photoshop CS.

After the boring printing stuff, we covered at a bit more length, the downloading of photos from your camera, using the “Microsoft Camera and Scanning Wizard”.

This Link - pretty well sums up the use of this Wizard.

Those of you feeling lost without printed notes to look at while I am teaching, can look forward to printed materials from the beginning of next term.

Remember; I put these links and resources here for your use. So if they are of no use to you, too hard to understand or you feel they are off topic, then please let me know, via any of the communication channels you have with me. I am more then happy to make changes, source better content or even create fresh content from scratch, just for you! You need only ask …. nicely!

Certificate 2 - Week 7

This week we began working our way through the notes for Create User Documentation Task 3. There is a considerable amount of notes for this task, so please take the next two weeks to gradually read you way through them. It would be a good idea to make side notes on anything you don’t understand, and get in touch with me when you are able to. We will begin, and hopefully complete Task 3 in our next session.
